“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” II Corinthians 5:17

We must remind ourselves continually that we are not the person we used to be. If you looked in a mirror after you were born again, your physical appearance was still the same. That’s because your spirit was born again, not your body. You still had the same thoughts and reasonings in your mind because your mind wasn’t born again. Your spirit was. It was your spirit that experienced the new birth, which is the total re-creation of your spirit! You became a new creation! You became a new wineskin! (See Mark 2:22-23 NKJV)

That’s when your sins were blotted out in heaven and no record of them remains. The Blood of Christ paid your sin debt in FULL! Sin Canceled! That’s when you experienced a supernatural peace, a oneness with God that you never sensed before that moment. That was the release of your sin, and the guilt and shame that went with it!

It’s important that we adapt to our new identity in Christ and enjoy the realities of our new nature. If someone is not excited about their identity in Christ, it’s because that truth hasn’t become revelation to them; it’s merely information.  In the same way, you can have information about Jesus without really knowing Him.  You can know about the new birth without it ever becoming a revelation of who you really are! It’s the difference between night and day, heaven and hell, real Christianity, or just religion!

It’s only when that information becomes REVELATION that we can see ourselves as God sees us! That’s when the knowledge of God comes alive and reveals our true identity! That’s when the Word ceases from being just another book and becomes the mirror by which we can see who we really are in our spirit man – a new creation in Christ!

Let the Word of God tell you who you are; that you can do all things through Christ, that you are a new creation, that you are more than a conqueror, that you have been forgiven of all your sins! That God, Himself calls you his son or daughter, that you have been made accepted in Christ, that you are a joint heir with Christ to all the provisions of the New Covenant, the provisions of heaven, the Promises of God, and the Blessings of God!

God’s plans are to give us a hope and future! Start it by looking into the mirror of the Word of God to see yourself as you really are in the spirit, a New Creation!

With Love,

Pastor Tom
