“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”2 Corinthians 3:18

Would it shock you if I told you that you have never seen your own face? You may think you have! You may think, ‘Wait a minute, I look at my face in the mirror every day!’

Yes, you do, but the mirror is only a reflection of your face. And that reflection actually delivers a totally opposite image of what your face really looks like. In other words, when you look in the mirror, you’re not seeing your true face. You’re seeing what your face looks like backwards.

That’s why I like to refer to the Word of God as a mirror, because, no matter how I see myself, or regardless of the thoughts the enemy is feeding me, the Bible comes back to me the exact opposite! It reflects God’s thoughts and how He sees me.

When the enemy attempts to paint negative images in our minds, images of weakness, inferiority, lack, fear, bitterness, or guilt and condemnation, we can look in the mirror of the Word, and it reverses those negative thoughts and images by giving us God’s true reflection. For instance, when thoughts of weakness come, the Word tells us that we are “strengthened with might by His Spirit in our inner man!” When we see ourselves as inferior, the Mirror of the Word tells us, “Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world!” When we feel afraid, He says, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” When it looks like we’ve just made a pile of ashes of our lives, it says “He gave me beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness! There is no reason to stay down when the He calls me a tree of righteousness, that I am a planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified!”

In other words, whatever guilt trip the enemy is laying on us, or what problems we may be facing, the reflection of God’s Mirror, the Bible, always comes back with the TRUE IMAGE- THE ETERNAL IMAGE! His Word gives us the reflection of Truth that overrides the facts! The Mirror of God’s Word dismantles the accusations of the enemy by giving us the reflection of how God sees us!

His Mirror (God’s Word) never lies. Despite what we’re feeling, or how we perceive our life to be. He doesn’t jump ship when we hit a storm in life. Instead, he rises to the occasion, and when we see turbulence, He speaks, “Peace, Be Still.” What He speaks is eternal reality no matter what the temporary storm may be! His Word is the reality! When we speak what He speaks, regardless of what we’re feeling, seeing, hearing or sensing, it honors Him when we value His Word more than our natural sight! When we continue to look into the true Mirror of the Word it will transform us, our problems, our situations and our lives, as we stay focused on the Mirror that Never Lies!
