“Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.” Hebrews 1:4
People obtain great names in one of three ways. Some are born into a great name, as royalty of some kind. Others make great names for themselves through achievements. Others have a great name conferred upon them. Jesus received the more excellent Name in all three of these ways! Jesus’ Name is great because He inherited it. His Name is great because of His achievements. And, His Name is great because it was conferred upon Him by the Father! Once we grasp the Truth concerning the Name of Jesus, it will revolutionize our walk in the Spirit! Walking in the revelation of His Name will allow us to break through natural barriers and limitations and work the New Covenant the way it was designed to work for us… In His Name!
E.W. Kenyon was speaking on the Wonderful Name of Jesus one afternoon when a lawyer in attendance interrupted him. He asked E.W. Kenyon, “Do you mean to say that Jesus gave us the Power of Attorney, the legal right to use His Name?” Brother Kenyon said, “You’re a lawyer and I am a layman. You tell me! Did Jesus give us Power of Attorney?” The lawyer replied, “If language means anything, then Jesus did give us Power of Attorney.” Brother Kenyon then asked the lawyer, “What’s the value of Power of Attorney?” He said, “It depends upon how much there is to back it up! It depends on how much power the name represents!”
Think for a moment… if you suffer from a sickness. Every sickness has a Name that must bow to the more excellent Name of Jesus! Curses, poverty, demonic strongholds, evil imaginations, fears and phobias… ALL have names that must bow to the Name of Jesus! Confusion, Ignorance, Pride, Lust, Powerlessness, Bondage, Wrong Self-Image, Forgetfulness… all these are common among people. Yet, every one of them has a name and must surrender to the More Excellent Name of Jesus! Don’t wait for God to do something! He has given YOU–that’s right–YOU, Power of Attorney of His Name! You take the Name of Jesus and begin to make those demonic things bow to Jesus and surrender to the Lordship of Jesus over your life!
“And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;”
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father!” (Philippians 2: 8-11)
Jesus inherited His excellent Name as the first born from the dead! He also obtained it through His achievements of obedience, defeating sin, satan, death, hell, fear and the grave! And, it was conferred upon Him by the Father, Himself at His coronation as King of kings, and Lord of lords!
AND He has given YOU Power of Attorney to use his name for his glory!
