“But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:” – 1 Corinthians 12:7
I suppose we have all heard someone complain about Christmas shopping this season. I heard one account where a customer at the cash register said, “Why do we have to have this Christmas thing anyway! Whose idea was it to have the Holiday?” The answer to that is simple. The commercialization of Christmas is man’s idea, but the event we celebrate is God’s idea.
“…For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” I John 3:8
It was God’s idea for Jesus to be born into the earth, and to become a man in order to stand in for us as the perfect substitutional sacrifice for our sins, to spoil principalities and powers that were holding us in bondage, and triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:14-15)
It was God’s idea to send the Holy Spirit to empower believers with supernatural gifts, and, as He said in John 14:12, to “…do even greater works…” than He did!
Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to give us gifts of the Spirit, to empower the Church, to bear witness to the Word of God that we preach, even as we, through the Spirit, bear witness of Jesus. (Acts 1:8)
This year has been a year of sifting and settling, a time of preparation for a spectacular year ahead in which the Holy Spirit will be empowering His Church as never before! Our calling, as believers, is to walk in the Word and continue to separate ourselves from the narratives, the media and its deception and lies, and from all the ways and whims that distract us from His purpose and calling on our lives. Nothing this world offers is worth missing out on the power and anointing that God is releasing upon the Church in this hour! The Gifts that empower us to deal with demonic forces and liberate people who Jesus died for, belong to us! Our vigilance is to be ready to operate in them. Yes, this next year will be hard for the world, but time for us to rise up, walk in truth, pray in the Spirit, stay in the anointing, and continue to let our light burn bright for those who want the Truth!
Remember God gives us supernatural gifts to empower His Church as witnesses to the greatest Gift the world has ever received – The Perfect Gift – Jesus!
