“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is
made unto salvation.” Romans 10:10

In Luke 17, the apostles asked the Lord to increase their faith. In verse 6 He told them how.
“And the Lord said, ‘So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this
mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.”
In other words, He said, “if you have faith…as a seed…you would say…and it would obey you!”
Notice, Jesus didn’t increase their faith. Instead, He told them to start using what faith they did
have by speaking words of faith. What are words of faith? Words of faith are words that declare
the desired result. When God saw darkness, He didn’t say, “Wow, It’s dark out there!” No, He
spoke the desired result. He said “Light Be! Light Was!”

Many times people will start to voice their fears about their physical condition, that it might be
getting worse. What they are doing is agreeing with the problem and reinforcing the strength of
their condition with their own words!

Proverbs 6:2 tell us, “You are snared by the words of your mouth. You are taken by the words
of your mouth.” Many have spoken the words of the enemy over their health, their future, and
their finances, and those words are holding them in bondage. These are the words of fear,
unbelief, and defeat. The God kind of faith does not agree with the problems, but with what God
says about the problems. The words we speak must be filled with God’s Word, because His Word
carries power, life, blessing, and faith! Faith works through our words. That’s why the enemy
works so hard to get us to use our words against us. He knows how powerful our words are. He
knows that he has no defense for faith-filled words!

This is a very large subject, but for now, let’s start filling our mouth with the promises of God
that we find in the Bible. If a promise is in the Bible, God put it there for a reason. 2 Corinthians
1:20 says, “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God
through us.” He wants us to begin experiencing His Promises in our life, and the way they
become a reality in our life is to start speaking about them as if we already have them!
Jesus said, “if you have faith… as a seed… you would say… and it will obey you!”
