“…we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” 1 Corinthians 2:7-8
The devil thought he had Jesus right where he wanted Him. It looked like he had Jesus utterly defeated and destroyed. He incited the Jewish leaders to mock Him, discredit Him by using false witnesses. They gave Him over to Pilate who had Him mercilessly whipped. Crowds were railing at Him all the way to His crucifixion, and even up to His last moments. Now, Jesus’ Body was in lying dead in a tomb while His Spirit was incarcerated in hell!
The devil was celebrating his mighty victory over the Son of God!
What the devil didn’t count on though, was the event that was about to occur, which would destroy every system he ever built, and expose him as the biggest loser in the history of the world! That event, of course, was the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead! The Resurrection exposed the devil’s failure before all the demon forces, and he is still shaking from the incredible force of the blow that Jesus laid on him.
1 John 3:8 says, “…For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” The only way that Jesus could destroy satan’s works was to become a man. That’s because dominion in the earth was given to man, and that never changed, even after Adam’s fall. The devil always needs human cooperation to do anything, because a spirit has no dominion in the physical world! When Jesus became a man, being God in the flesh, He walked in that dominion, and He knew how to use it! As a Prophet and Teacher under the Abrahamic Covenant, He used the Gifts of the Spirit to put the enemy under His feet and fulfill His Messianic role as our Savior!
No matter what the devil has ever done, no matter how cleverly he plots and plans the destruction of the Bible, the Church, Ministers, The Unity of Family, Educational Systems, Judeo-Christian values, and Governments, he always comes out at the bottom of the slime pit. That’s because darkness cannot produce light! But we can! Jesus said so! We are the light of the world!
So, it’s time to pray: for leaders in government, for a revelation of Truth, and not to be deceived. Pray for citizens of America to return to God. Pray for godly leaders in our local communities and school boards to return to sanity, and for boldness to stand up for what education is! That’s how we stop the devil, and that’s how we enforce his defeat! We’ll find that when we take God at His Word and walk in Truth, the devil flees. He will fail because all of his greatest plans always fail! Just look at the Resurrection of Jesus! It destroyed everything the devil ever did, and the empty tomb is still witnessing to the Risen Jesus Christ to this very day! If he knew what he was doing, he would have never crucified the Lord of Glory!
