“Then He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given.” Mark 4:24

Take heed what you hear…” I used to look at those words as a stern warning. I realized later however, that they were an open door to unlimited blessing!

The words ‘take heed’ are from one Greek word: ‘blepo.’ It means to watch, to see, to behold, or to be aware. Jesus is urging us to maintain a state of awareness concerning the Word of God. Each time we open our Bible we are reading Words that were first spoken by God, so they could be written. They were written so they could be read and spoken by us! It’s when we read the

Word and speak it in faith that our hearts are activated by the laws of the Spirit of Life!

Now, here’s the exciting part… With the same measure we use, it will be measured to us; and to us who hear more will be given! I don’t know if you realize this, but this is a huge Open Door! God is giving us powerful keys of the kingdom here! This is a remarkable invitation to give the Word of God its rightful place and priority in our lives! Anyone who desires to hear and understand the Word of God and walk in the Blessing of God, has wonderful surprises and provisions ahead! And here’s what cool – We get to decide the measure we will receive!

If we give the measure of priority and diligence to God’s Word that it deserves, we will receive the same measure in return. When we allow God’s Word to become our thoughts, our ways, and our priority, and let it renovate our minds with light, we are giving full measure to Him, which means we will receive the same full measure from Him! We have God’s Word on that!

Read through Mark 4:13-25 and you will see four kinds of people. The same Word was preached to each of them, yet the results varied, and only one group received the fruit of blessing; not because God was favoring some and not others. No, it was those who listened and gave place to the Word and accepted it, and worked it. They brought forth fruit of 30, 60 and 100 fold!

You may be someone who has always ended up on the short end of the stick… It’s not that God doesn’t love you, or that He decided you’re not supposed to be blessed. Remember, the same Word of the Gospel is preached to everyone. Those who believe, receive and act on it will bring forth fruit. And there’s nothing the devil, or anyone else can do to stop you!

Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.” When we live by the Word of God is when we really start to live!

With Love,

Pastor Tom
