\u201cBut ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.\u201d Acts 1:8<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Holy Spirit brought many gifts to the Body of Christ when He came on the Day of Pentecost. Jesus expounded to His disciples the things they were to expect when the Holy Spirit arrived, and He prefaced it by saying, \u201cHe that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.\u201d John 14:12<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we approach the end of the church age the gifts of the Holy Spirit will increase, which, by the way, are the same gifts, miracles and powers that were manifested in Jesus\u2019 ministry. After all, He was our example and the forerunner of all things to the Church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are gifts that cannot be imitated or counterfeited to promote man, or man\u2019s agenda. They are given to glorify Jesus! These are the supernatural powers that the devil fears most, which accounts for his continued attempts to destroy them by creating suspicion, controversy, and false teachings concerning them, by those who know nothing about them. Yet, Jesus, Himself told us what He would do when He comes \u201cHe shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.\u201d John 14:26 \u201cWhen the Comforter is come\u2026 He shall testify of me.\u201d John 15:26 \u201cHowbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth\u2026 he will shew you things to come! He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine and shall shew it unto you.\u201d John 16:13-14<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Nine Gifts of the Spirit are listed in I Corinthians 12:8-10:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. The Word of Wisdom<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. The Word of Knowledge<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Faith<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Gifts of Healing<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Working of Miracles<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Prophecy<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Discerning of spirits (includes all spirits, whether demonic or angelic)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8. Different kinds of Tongues<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9. Interpretation of Tongues<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Body of Christ has been empowered supernaturally to defeat demonic forces in the world. There are also other gifts that Jesus gave to the Body too! For instance, the Keys of the Kingdom of heaven! The power of binding and loosing! The Spirit of Faith, and, of course \u2013 The Word of God, along with the Author of the Word to live in us, as Jesus said, \u201cHe shall abide with you forever!\u201d John 14:16<\/p>\n\n\n\n
