\u201cBut lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.\u201d Matthew 6:20<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After reading this verse, the immediate question in my mind was, \u201cHow do I go about laying up treasure for myself in heaven?\u201d <\/em>There are many directions we could take here, but let\u2019s look at the context; the previous verses talk about people who give alms, and fast and pray just to impress other people, so they might appear to be some kind of super spiritual faith giant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus said, they already have their reward<\/em>, which was to appear <\/em>to be a faith giant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet, the question remains how do we lay up for ourselves treasures in heaven? Look at what Jesus instructed us to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew 6:6 says, \u201cBut you, when you pray,<\/em> <\/em>go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you<\/em> <\/em>openly.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did you realize that God desires to reward you openly? Yes, He does! When people see the blessings that are being bestowed on you, they\u2019re going to eventually ask all the right questions. Your answer should be, \u201cGod has been good to us!\u201d Don\u2019t take credit for the prayers you prayed. Instead, let God boast about you by imparting blessings of provisions, wisdom, boldness, insights, understanding, revelation knowledge, and authority!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Money doesn\u2019t come from heaven. It\u2019s here on the earth. The treasure that we seek is our Father\u2019s approval! Every child wants their father\u2019s approval. If we have God\u2019s approval get ready for some big dividends! When we know that we are pleasing to God, the treasures of heaven are ours! Not because we seek the treasure, but because we love the Father! Oh yes, there is a heavenly bank account, and your Father owns the bank!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has given each of us the keys of His kingdom, by which we are able to access the grace in which we stand! The devil may want to destroy you, but God\u2019s bigger than any demon, and it pleases Him beyond measure when you have given your time just to be with Him!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
