\u201cFor what is your life? It is even\u00a0a\u00a0vapor, that\u00a0appears for\u00a0a\u00a0little time,\u00a0and then vanishes\u00a0away.\u201d James 4:14<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Have you ever noticed how inanimate objects seem to speak to us? Not that they have a voice, but they activate a voice inside us. When we see the dates on a gravestone, for instance, they tell us how long a person lived, and we look at those dates as the beginning and the end of a life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dates etched into that stone will remain there. But, there is something on that stone that will follow us into eternity. No one seems to look at it with any interest. After all, it has no words or numbers that we can read. Yet, it is the most important part of the engraving, which represents the very life that was here for a brief moment. It represents the time between those dates. All the values, interests, loves and hates, dreams and aspirations, abilities and accomplishments of that life and so much more, is represented by it. It\u2019s the DASH between the dates of the person who arrived before, and left after the DASH BETWEEN THE DATES!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

That dash is what will follow us into eternity. It will be opened and its contents revealed. Does that sound embarrassing? Uh, yeah!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, God, in His love and mercy toward us has given us yet<\/strong><\/em> another option, <\/strong>a far superior one!<\/em> His sacrifice for us has paid for all our failures, sins and everything that would alienate us from God. That\u2019s because heaven\u2019s demands for justice were settled at the Cross. God did FOR US through Christ, <\/em>what we could not have done for ourselves. He paid for the sins of the world! He paid for your sins. We have record of the lives of those who are listed in the Faith Hall of Fame in Hebrews 11. All of them, in fact, from Genesis on, were flawed, had sinned, and made terrible mistakes! BUT<\/em> \u2013 their failures and sins were eventually folded up into a far more powerful DASH! That beautiful DASH has been celebrated for 2,000 years and represents the perfection that no other man has ever achieved! The GOOD NEWS is that if you have been born into God\u2019s family simply by receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior by faith, YOUR DASH IS REPLACED WITH HIS DASH!<\/em> All His accomplishments become yours as if you did it yourself. You might think. \u201cThat sound illegal!\u201d No, is was paid for in full! That\u2019s where Grace comes in. G<\/strong>od\u2019s R<\/strong>iches A<\/strong>t C<\/strong>hrist\u2019s E<\/strong>xpense. \u201c\u2026Where sin abounded, grace did much more abound!<\/em> (Romans 5:20) Everything God did in Christ, He did for you, as if you did it yourself, so that your life would be more than a vapor! His Dash will be yours for all eternity!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
