Angels were active in Jesus\u2019 ministry, and they appear ministering to Him in all four Gospels to sustain Him, strengthen Him, and serve Him in many ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When Jesus was in the wilderness being tempted by the devil, and after the final temptation He said, \u201cAway with you, Satan! For it is written<\/em>, \u2018You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.\u2019 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him. <\/em>Matthew 4:10-11<\/p>\n\n\n\n When Jesus was in the Garden praying to the Father, saying,, \u201cif thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.\u201d <\/em>Luke 22:42-43 <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n When Mary Magdeline went to the tomb where they had lain Jesus\u2019 body, \u201c\u2026Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping, and as she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb. And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain\u201d <\/em>John 20:11-12. Angels were there at His grave guarding His body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Finally, when Jesus walked on the water out to where the disciples were fighting against the contrary winds, they saw Him and, \u201cthey were troubled, saying, \u201cIt is a ghost!\u201d And they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, \u201cBe of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.\u201d And Peter answered Him and said, \u2018Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water?<\/em>\u2019 So He said, \u201cCome.\u201d And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.But when he saw [<\/sup><\/em>e<\/sup><\/em><\/a>]<\/sup><\/em>that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, \u201cLord, save me!\u201dAnd immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, \u201cO you of little faith, why did you doubt?\u201d And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.\u201d<\/em> Matthew 14: 26-32<\/p>\n\n\n\n I\u2019ve never heard an explanation for Jesus walking on the water that ever sat right with me. Then, I was reading Psalms 18 one day, in verses 10; 16-17 it says, \u201cHe flew upon the wings of the wind\u2026\u201d He sent from above, He took me; He drew me out of many waters. He delivered me from my strong enemy\u2026\u201d <\/em>As we have been studying the ministry of angels this month, we have seen how the angels covered Him with their feathers when Jesus was under attack, saying He walked through the midst of those who were trying to stone Him or push Him off a cliff; and Psalms 18 tells us that He flew upon the wings of the wind<\/em>. I believe Jesus was being supported by angels on the sea that night!<\/p>\n\n\n\n We know this; that Jesus is our example, and whatever provisions were available to Jesus \u2013 are also available to us.
