Our imaginations are powerful. Most people relegate the imagination to either fantasy or make-believe. But God gave us an imagination to liberate our ability to receive from God! Think about it, God created us with an imagination so we could see with our hearts what we cannot see with our eyes. Our imagination is where the blueprints for God’s Plans and Purposes for us are birthed. Our imagination is like a spiritual womb where the seeds of God’s Promises are conceived.
Here is the process. I Peter 1:23 tells us that we were born again by the incorruptible seed of the Word of God. God’s Word is seed, but for that seed to work, it has to be implanted. This is the primary reason why many believers who pray for healing and prosperity, and other provisions, from the Word of God, never receive answers. They may believe that God can heal them, or that the Word of God is true, but they haven’t become intimate with the word of God for it to be conceived in their spirit, which leaves their spiritual womb barren.
One time a healing evangelist prayed for a woman’s eyesight to be restored. She was legally blind and wore glasses that were so thick that they looked like the bottom of coke bottles. After he prayed for her, he asked her, “Can you see?” So, she began to open her eyes, and he said, “Shut your eyes!” So, she shut her eyes. Then he asked her again, “Can you see?” So, she did the same thing and began to open her eyes, and he said, “Shut your eyes!” This went on three times and the woman wondered if this guy was insane, or what?
He finally said, “I didn’t tell you to open your eyes. You’ve got to see yourself seeing before you see!” Then she began to understand what the healing evangelist was trying tell her, and the woman kept her eyes closed and began praying in the spirit. After a few minutes, she said, “I can see myself seeing!” Then, the healing evangelist said, “Open your eyes.” The woman slowly opened her eyes. She could see perfectly!
Miracles don’t come from the outside. They come from within. They are first conceived in our imaginations. If more of us understood this principle, we would get different results when we pray. Instead, most of us start looking to see if our prayers worked. We’ve got to become so intimate with the Word of God through meditating on it until our minds are renewed and the transformation comes. When we begin to see ourselves the way God sees us, that’s when faith begins to transform our condition and His power is released to manifest our request according to His perfect will.
