“I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:’” Isaiah 46:9-10
The principle of declaring the end, or the desired result, from the beginning is seen throughout the Bible. Romans 4:17 says, “(As it is written, I have made you a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickens the dead, and calls those things which be not as though they were.”
David was a shepherd who cared for his father’s sheep as a boy, during which time he studied the scriptures, which were the books of Moses, Genesis through Deuteronomy. He also began writing the Psalms during this time and sang scriptural songs to the LORD. Through meditating on the Word of God, it’s obvious he began operating in the simple principle of declaring the end from the beginning and calling those things which be not as though they were.
In I Samuel 17, David faced Goliath. After Goliath cursed David by his gods, he said to David, “Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field.”
Then David declared how this fight would end from its beginning! He said, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.” David declared the end from the beginning and the LORD brought it to pass just as he said!
The LORD needs our words in order to bring about His will in our lives. Hebrews 3:1-2 gives us the reason why: “Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus.” Jesus is the High Priest of our what? of Our Confession – This is referring to the confession of our faith. David’s words of faith were words that were honored by God, and the anointing was released upon David to single-handedly defeat the most fearsome adversary Israel was facing!
What are some of the fearsome adversaries you are facing? Sicknesses, weaknesses, lack or inabilities… It’s time to start speaking against them in the authority of the Word of God, and declare what the Word says! “I am of God, and have overcome them, because greater is He who is in me than he that is in the world!” Maintain your confession of faith regardless of what you see. After all, that giant you’re facing will try to knock you off your game. But now, your words of faith give Jesus something to work with on your behalf. He needs your words of faith in order to mediate the benefits of the New Covenant on your behalf! Start declaring the end from the beginning and calling those things which be not as though they were! You’ll find Jesus is real! You’ll find that everything is already in place for you to avail yourself of by faith!
