“For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” – II Corinthians 1:20
When we see a promise in the Bible that meets a particular need in our life, this scripture is telling us that there is no reason why we can’t believe it and receive it. In other words, if God said it, He didn’t say it for His own benefit. He said it for ours! God’s will is His Word! And fulfilling of His Word is what He has sworn to do (Jer. 1:12)!
I know people get all kinds of different ideas about the will of God and the promises of God, but God never called us to question or challenge His Word. He called us to believe it and receive it!
God’s Word is His Will! We can actually look at the Promises of God, in a legal sense, as His Last Will and Testament! Throughout the New Testament, we find a recurring theme to our inheritance! Many times, I heard it said that when we get to heaven, we will receive a wonderful inheritance! But I have found that the Bible has much more to say about this! According to Ephesians 1:11, we have already obtained our inheritance. It has already been legislatively transferred to us! A Will is a document that lists the property of the testator and designates his desires for the distribution of the things listed in the Will. In order for the contents of the Will of God to be released, the death of the Testator is required. According to Hebrews 9, that requirement was fulfilled. When Jesus died, every Promise God made to man from the beginning was transferred back under the dominion of man. We are now the responsible recipients of His Promises! Heaven recognizes those who have received Jesus as Lord and Savior, as the rightful owners of His Promises!
Now, our title scripture (above) is a living document, not because of someone’s opinion, but by the death of Jesus on the Cross! The fulfillment of all God’s Promises are not God’s to give anymore! They are ours to receive, stand on and activate, because as far as God is concerned, they have been transferred to us and placed under our own authority! That’s why the last phrase of the above scripture states that we have something to do with His Promises being fulfilled! All God’s Promises in Him (Christ) are Yes – and in Him they have heaven’s Amen, to the glory of God – BY US! Yes, we are the legal recipients of God’s Promises! Now we are to receive them by faith. Believe them in our heart and declare them with our mouth! Because, We having the same Spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak!
Let’s start declaring that all the promises of God belong to us! They belong to the Church! If you believe it, start speaking it! You have the same Spirit of Faith, and if you are In Christ, His Promises are your promises to walk in and enjoy!
With Love,
Pastor Tom
