“For the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.” Exodus 12:23
If there was ever a specific type and shadow of the promised Messiah, this was it! The children of Israel were about to be delivered from bondage and slavery, but something had to happen first! After the Lord had sent nine previous warnings to Pharaoh to let His people go, the last judgment was about to fall. Every firstborn male would be killed. So, God instructed Moses to have the people kill a lamb, and its blood was to be smeared on the wooden frame of every door. When the destroyer came upon Egypt to kill the firstborn of every household, he would not be able to go into the house covered with blood. Blood on a wooden frame may seem insignificant to some, but to us it represents the Blood that would one day stain the wooden cross that Jesus died on!
The correlations between the Passover lamb and Jesus, the Lamb of God, are many, but they all agree that the greatest price ever paid for anything, at any time, anywhere was paid for you! It was the greatest act of love in the history of the world!
Our faith is in the shed Blood of Jesus, the Blood that sealed the everlasting Covenant, and the Blood that washed us and continues to speak on our behalf! We refuse to allow the lies of the enemy to steal or even diminish what God has perfected in us in Christ! The Lamb has been sacrificed on our behalf and that sacrifice was received by the Father! Jesus’ resurrection is proof of all He said and did for us! We are protected by His Blood and the Father has released His power and vested it in the Name that is above every Name – the Name of Jesus! It is light years higher than the names of pandemics, sicknesses and diseases, shortages, weaknesses, lack and defeat. You have a Savior who will continue to fight for you as long as you simply believe in Him!
“…Christ, our Passover was sacrificed for us!” (I Cor. 5:7)

Pastor Tom
