“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.” Romans 8:16-17
If you believe everything God has said about Himself, then you must also believe everything He has said about you! He said you are an heir of God, and a joint Heir with His very own Son!
When you were born again you were born into an amazing inheritance! This truth gives you your identity as an heir of God!
Now, a will is a document that represents the desires of the testator. The assets, titles, positions, and property of the testator are detailed and directed to those named in the will. That document is called a Last Will and Testament. Once the testator dies, the will goes into force and the assets of the testator are then distributed to the heirs.
Simply put, the New Testament is God’s Last Will and Testament. Hebrews 9:16-17 says it this way; “For where there is a testament, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is in force after men are dead, since it has no power at all while the testator lives.” In other words, once Jesus died, The New Testament became the instrument to distribute everything God willed to those who believe in Christ! This includes all His promises, provisions, benefits, and the Blessing of Abraham!
The New Testament is the most amazing document ever written, and it is literally a list of everything God desires for you, and He has given you full access to its treasures as an heir of God!
