“…weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” Psalms 30:5
The word, ‘morning’ can represent several things. It can refer to the completion of something. Notice in Genesis that evening always came first, then the morning. “…And the evening and the morning were the first day” (Genesis 1:5,8,13,19,23,31) God called into being those things He desired. He saw darkness and called forth light! He saw earth and soil and called forth grass and trees!
Here we learn one of the greatest lessons we can learn about God, that He always calls for what He desires regardless of what He sees! When God saw darkness, He called for light. When He saw sin and iniquity, He called for mercy and grace, which began the process for His Son to come into this world to settle an account that we were helpless to do anything about.
This time of the year many struggle with a sense of alienation and sorrow. Most of them forget that they have a unique standing in God’s creation, and were created in His image and likeness, and given dominion on the earth (Genesis 1:28). Let His Joy be the beginning of your new day, a day that will be full and complete with a Joy that will sustain you through all of life’s struggles!
Walking and talking with, and like God, has turned around the lives of countless millions! I know, because I am one of them! And the invitation extends to all people everywhere! Joy came to us one morning 2,ooo years ago, and your mornings can begin to be filled with that same joy! The promise of Joy coming in the morning is as close as your next words, “Jesus, I believe You died for me and rose again from the dead to give me eternal life! I believe You are the Son of God and I receive Your gift of eternal life, and I make you my Lord! Amen!
With Love,
Pastor Tom
