“For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.” James 3:2
Everything in the universe was created by Words. Everything we can see, hear, smell, touch and taste; and everything we can’t see, like gravity and other unseen forces, were all created by the Word of God. One simple revelation we can draw from creation is that everything was created by the Word of God, therefore; everything is subject to the Word of God! This includes life and death. Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…” That means everything is subject to our words.
Like I said, every created thing is subject to the Word of God! Jesus knew this, which is why He was able to rule over the winds and sea, and the storm was calmed! He spoke to demons and they fled! He spoke to the dead and they were raised! Why? Because He spoke the WORDS of LIFE! Death and Life are in the power of the tongue! Death and Life are released through our words!
Proverbs 6:2 says. “You are snared by the words of your mouth; You are taken by the words of your mouth.” Many have spoken the words of the enemy, and those words are holding them in bondage. Their bodies have suffered because of those words. The Good News is, if it is your words that got you into bondage, then your words can also get you out of bondage! Learn to speak life even in the face of a terminal diagnosis. Learn to speak health and healing even in the face of a crippling disease! Learn to speak victory instead of defeat! Learn to speak strength instead of weakness! Joel 3:10 said, “…Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’” When God saw darkness, He spoke LIGHT!
The Word of God is not philosophy or speculation. It is spiritual law! “…if we don’t stumble in our words, which means, if we don’t speak the enemy’s words into our lives, we will also be able to bridle our whole body.” In other words, our body will begin to obey us like it’s bridled to the desired result! This is what the Bible teaches us about our words!
When we put a bridle on a horse with a bit in its mouth, we can steer it wherever we want it to go. Our tongue is like that bit. The words we speak will steer us. If we speak God’s Words of health, we will experience health. The Word will bring forth the fruit of life and health! Just as horses have bits, ships have rudders, and people have tongues, they all do the same thing! Our words set the course of our lives and even the course of nature, too! Everything was created by the Word of God. Therefore, everything is subject to the Word of God. God has given you His Word. He has given you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, and by doing so, it’s obvious that He wants you to have a life of heaven on earth!
