“He sent His Word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions” Psalm 107:20
Have you ever known someone who could alter the atmosphere of a room just by showing up? I remember people who had an uncanny art of making people’s skin crawl. I’ve known others whose entrance brought excitement and people were glad to see them! We all have the ability to influence our surroundings, the people we love, our neighborhood and our community. The Bible tells us that God framed the worlds by His Word. We also frame our world with our words!
Words Change Our World
The words we speak not only have an effect on others, but they also have a lasting effect on us as well. Proverbs 18:8 says, “The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.” The word talebearer refers to a slanderer. When we think of a slanderer, we think of someone who goes around hurting others with his slanderous words. Another translation sheds more light on this verse. The YLT says, “The words of a tale-bearer [are] as self-inflicted wounds, And they have gone down [to] the inner parts of the heart.” These words spoken against others don’t wound others nearly as much as they wound the one who spoke them! Those words cause self-inflicted wounds! When a person is wounded inside, he will negatively alter the atmosphere wherever he goes.
Words Bring Healing
Proverbs 16:24 says, “Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.”
Proverbs 12:18 says, “…the tongue of the wise is health.”
Psalms 107:20 says, “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” When God opens His mouth and speaks, as this scripture states, it brings healing and deliverance from all our destructions! Heaven is filled with health and exudes wholeness and strength! When God opens His mouth and speaks it brings healing and deliverance from all our destructions!
Psalm 103:3 says that God “… forgives all our iniquities and heals all our diseases!” When God forgives, He heals, He delivers, He restores, He reconciles and redeems our life from all our destructions. Any one of us can sit down and start speaking these same words that God, Himself spoke! We can meditate on them and build them into our spirit, and they will do exactly what they were sent to do – they will bring healing and deliverance. They will frame your life with God’s perfect will of health! They will frame your world with God’s healing touch. With Him, we can Heal our World!
