“…When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.” Isaiah 59:19
In the original Hebrew language, there were no punctuation marks… this verse could easily be read like this: “When the enemy comes in… like a flood the LORD will lift up a standard against him.” That standard is the FLOOD OF THE LORD! The LORD lifts up His standard to destroy our enemies like a tsunami that hits him before he knows what’s happening!
The Hebrew definition of the word standard is as follows:
- To put to flight; 2) to chase after; 3) to deliver; 4) to impel; 5) to cause to flee away
The LORD’s standard/flood is a spiritual weapon designed to take the enemy out, but we know that God doesn’t do anything without the involvement of His Church. It’s through the authority He has delegated to the Church that He moves. It’s His power, but He works it through us.
A good picture of this is found in the Old Testament, where the children of Israel had to go out against their enemies. God needed their cooperation to destroy their enemies, but the power was of God.
We need to praise and worship God who is mightier than any virus and stand against this Covid-19 virus and speak against it and command it to die!
Let’s agree with this scripture, that the Spirit of the LORD, who is our Helper, shall come in like a tsunami and put this Covid-19 virus to flight! We don’t need to flee! It needs to flee, and it will flee when the spirits that drive it are bound up and cast out through the authority God has given us to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy! (Luke 10:19)
