“Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” James 2:17

Faith, if it’s the Godkind of faith, always initiates a corresponding action on our part. It begins with some form of verbal declaration. The woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5:25-34) is a classic example of this. It says, “when she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, “If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.” (Mark 5:27-28)

First, she heard about Jesus. Romans 10:17 says, “…faith comes by hearing the word of God.” This woman had an issue of blood for 12 years and spent all she had on doctors who could not help her. But, when she heard about Jesus the Healer, she started to SAY, “If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.” This word “said,” refers to a continual flow of words, or, a harangue, to the point where she kept saying it until she acted on it. Her words became action and she made her way through the crowd and touched Jesus’ garment and was immediately made whole!

Suddenly Jesus stopped and asked, “Who touched Me?” He felt healing power leave Him and demanded to know who it was! The disciples didn’t know who touched Him due to the crowd pressing in on Him. Finally, His eyes fell upon the woman, and she told Him the whole story. To which, He said, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace and be healed of your affliction.” (Mark 5:34)

If you look at her actions you will note that her first response to hearing about Jesus was with words; “for she said…”

Then, she did it! She acted. She touched his clothes!

Then she received her healing. The word receive means ‘to take.’ She actually TOOK her healing from Jesus. That’s what faith does!

Then, she said it! She told Him the whole story!

1) She said it! 2) She did it! 3) She received it 4) She told it

Faith is a spiritual law (Romans 3:27) and operates through the principles that are revealed in scripture. When we appropriate the principles of faith we will get the results that faith in God will produce. Kenneth Hagin taught these principles and saw many receive healing from diseases that medical science had no answer for. We should know that the things that are impossible with man are not only possible with God, but they are Covenant benefits that belong to us. Faith is simply the vehicle that produces in us what is already a reality in the spirit realm. Healing belongs to the children of God. Jesus paid for it with His stripes and your healing is as close as your next words and corresponding actions.
