“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea. Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. “The Lord of hosts is with us; Be still, and know that I am God:” Psalms 46:1-3, 7, 10

This is a good illustration of the spiritual conditions we are experiencing now, and they come with God’s instructions. Sounds serious, doesn’t it? The earth being removed, the mountains being cast into the sea, waters roaring and mountains shaking…! Yet, the only counsel the Lord gives us is DO NOT FEAR!  Jesus said many times, “Fear Not!” He told Jairus, “Fear not! Only Believe!” Resisting Fear begins by believing God!                                                                                                                                                                  You may wonder why the enemy works so hard to keep us in fear! It’s because fear neutralizes our faith. It keeps us from waking in our identity in Christ, and knowing who we are in Him.

Yes, this World is falling apart. But God has already told us that these days would come. That doesn’t mean we have to be ruled by fear. If the world is falling apart, it doesn’t mean we have to fall apart. I know that sounds trite, like mere positive thinking, but it’s much more than that! It’s the Word of God! It’s Truth!

Read through the above scripture verses like they’re true – because THEY ARE!  Let God know that you trust Him to bring us THROUGH the valley. Problems only get worse when we focus on the problems instead of the power of the Word of God.

Jesus told us how to build a supernatural foundation that would withstand the torrential rains, storms, floods, and the winds of this world that bring destruction.

He said, if we listen to Him and do what He says to do, we are building our lives upon a Solid Rock that will withstand the storms, floods, and the winds of the world that seek to destroy us. When we DO what God says to do, we will be blessed in our deed. (James 1:22-25)

A deeper understanding of what Jesus was actually telling us, is that His Words are more powerful than natural forces. You remember He calmed the storm. He walked through mobs that were trying to kill Him. He called fish into nets; we could go on…

All creation is subject to it’s Creator, and if everything was created by the Word of God, then everything is subject to the Word of God. But the Word was sent to us to use it, to speak it and to have dominion with it!

If we would look into the Word of God like we would look into a mirror, the image of who we really are as new creations would begin to appear. We have supernatural ability! We have the mind of Christ (I Corinthians 2:16). We have the same Spirit in us who raised Christ from the dead (Romans 8:11). We have the Wisdom of God! We have been made Righteous! We have been Sanctified unto God, and we have been Redeemed from sin, the curse of the law, and we have been crowned with the Blessing of Abraham (I Cor. 1:30; Gal. 3:13-14)! And – we have been given authority over all the power of satan (Luke 10:19; Mk. 16:17).

Let’s keep our eyes on the prize; follow the Spirit and do what needs to be done because we are completely furnished for every good work. And, above all… Stay in the Word and DO what it says, because your identity is in Him, and He gave you your new identity!

With Love,

Pastor Tom
