“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31-32
Have you ever thought about words? What they are? Their purpose? Their power? The comfort or pain they can bring? The effect they have on our mindsets, and the paradigms they cement in our thinking, whether true or false? Think about the ability of words! They cannot be seen with the eye, yet their ability to paint the most vivid scenes in our minds and imaginations is meticulous! Nor can we hold words in our hands, yet they can hold a person in fear, anger and turmoil for a lifetime!
Jesus said, “If you continue in His Words you will know THE TRUTH…!” And His Words (The Truth) will make us FREE! Free from what? Free from all the other words that have painted the wrong images in our minds and have held us in fear, anger, and resentment, while paralyzing us and robbing us of the ability to be everything God created us to be! In short, His Words are the Only Words ever delivered to man that have the power to LIBERATE the soul of man from the lies of the god of this world. (2 Corinthians 4:4)
Referring to the devil, Jesus said, “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” (John 10:10)
If the words you’re hearing are stealing your joy, killing your dreams and destroying your hope for an abundant life, those words are from the enemy of your soul, and they lead to bondage. On the other hand, if the words you hear bring peace, strength, and a vision for a life worth living, they are from your Heavenly Father. He sent Jesus to liberate you. And, after all, He died for you, and, in doing so, He paid your debt of guilt in full! His words are still the Truth, and the Truth they bring will make you Free From Within!
