“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, And into his courts with praise: Be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” Psalm 100:4
This month we have been studying the four separate and distinct parts of Psalm 91, which is really a prophetic picture of how the New Covenant is set up for us to avail ourselves of God’s fellowship, provisions and promises, along with heaven’s resources.
Verse 1 is the subject, identifying those who dwell in the secret place of the most High, and abide under the protective covering of His shadow.
Verse 2 gives us our avenue of approach to God. “I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge, my Fortress, my God, in Him I will trust!” This tells us to speak words of faith before God, establishing our faith and trust in Him. Our confession of faith is vital because our words activate the high priestly ministry of Jesus.
In verses 3–13, being the third portion of the Psalm, it tell us of our High Priest (Jesus) speaking promises over us in response to our confession of faith.
Finally, verses 14-16 are the Words of the Father, speaking His Blessing over us, imparting His power and presence, and all His benefits!
The understanding we are given in Psalm 91 is that when we come into His courts with words of faith, Covenant realities are activated, and the courts of heaven begin to work on our behalf.
So, if you have you ever tried to imagine what it would be like to enter the LORD’s gates and come into his courts, be sure you’re prepared to speak words of faith with a heart full of praise and gratitude that declare, “I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge, my Fortress, my God, in Him I will trust!”
That’s when Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of your confession (Hebrews3:1), springs into action with words that are backed by the Father, and sealed with the promise of His power!
The Courts of Heaven are Wide Open! God’s promises and provisions are as unlimited as your faith is, which is why God delights so much in our faith!
If you knew the power that your faith has to initiate the intercessory ministry of Jesus, the power and presence of the Father, and the Blessing of Almighty God, you would begin to SPEAK words of faith! Those words will benefit you instead of hinder you because you’re not agreeing with your present condition. You’re agreeing with what God has said about YOU! Learn to declare words of faith! Let’s begin to call God what He calls Himself! “I will SAY of the LORD, He is my Refuge, my Fortress, my God, in Him I will trust!”
You’ll find that the Courts of Heaven are Wide Open to You!
With Love,
Pastor Tom
