“People do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy himself when he is starving. Yet when he is found, he must restore sevenfold; He may have to give up all the substance of his house.” Proverbs 6:30-31 NKJV

As we continue into 2021, Our Year of RESTORATION, we need to renew our trust in God’s restoration power. God is a Restorer. If Jesus restored the right ear (Luke 22:50-51) of the servant of one of His greatest enemies, the high priest; then we should be confident that He will restore anything we have lost too!

The above scripture is from the Old Testament. In those days people were each other’s enemy, but in the New Testament we are taught that people aren’t our real enemy. It’s the demonic forces that drive them that need to be bound and broken. Jesus has given us the authority to do just that! He said in Mark. 16:17, “In My Name, cast out demons!”! In Luke 10:19, He said, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

If the devil is behind all theft, and he is, then we need to know what the weapons are that we have at our disposal. We have warrior angels that greatly outnumber and overpower any demonic forces in existence. We have the Word of God abiding in us that both demons and angels must heed! We have the power of prayer, the Advocate Ministry of our High Priest, the Lord Jesus Christ, who can work all things together for our good! He has promised to restore the years to us that have been eaten away by sin, and He has promised to make the thief restore sevenfold of anything he has stolen from us.

My point is that we all have a part to play in the wonderful restoration God has planned for us. We need to stand, pray, and command the thief to be found! Once he is found it’s our job to enforce the Word until he restores what he stole and restore it to us sevenfold!

This is a brief snapshot into the rights and privileges we have as the children of God.  It’s up to us to set the standard for others to follow so they too can believe God for their restoration and be transformed from being victims to more than conquerors through Him who loves us!

With Love,

Pastor Tom
