“Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.” Colossians 2:15

There have been many movies made about the life and ministry of Jesus, and although they try to be as detailed as possible about His death, burial and resurrection; no movie can capture the unseen scope of what took place from Jesus’s death on the Cross to His ascension to the Throne in heaven! Jesus won a tremendous battle through His death, burial, and resurrection, where He literally was made sin, and took into Himself the condition of all mankind.

The Power that was released when the Father raised Him from the dead was the greatest demonstration of power in the history of the universe! The power that was released was enough to destroy the works of the devil all the way back to Adam! After all, there was only one sin that stood between God and man. That was Adam’s treason. I say treason because Adam sold out the entire unborn human race yet in his loins, to the bondage of iniquity and death!

Although the Gospels show us what happened TO Jesus on the cross, it was the Apostle Paul who received the revelation that completes the Gospel for us and reveals the purpose of it all. God showed Paul what happened IN Jesus on the Cross. It’s a revelation of what God saw when Jesus died and rose from the dead. Paul’s letters complete the Gospel by showing us what happened in the unseen realm – the spirit realm, where Jesus paralyzed the demonic order, and then Jesus made a public display of the defeated, dead, paralyzed and pulverized devil! It was a triumphant parade of conquest before the entire demonic realm to which all the angels and beings of heaven witnessed too!

From the time Adam sinned in the Garden, God formulated His Plan of Redemption, and declared in the Garden of Eden to satan that One is coming who would destroy him. He would be the Seed of a woman, who would crush him so hard that He would bruise His own heel doing it! (Genesis 3:15) The reason Jesus had to become a man was because that’s where the dominion was. Adam was the only one who could forfeit the earth and sell out all the future generations of man to sin, and he did! It was a man who had to be the key figure in the redemption – and that was Jesus!

Hebrews 2:14-15 says, “Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” We’re free! Believe it!
