It’s important that we understand the POWER of the Gospel. The message of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ is what separates the Gospel from every other religion, because it does what no other religion can! Any religion can teach lessons, but only Jesus can give eternal life (John 10:28). The Gospel of Christ “…is the power of God unto salvation for all who believe.”
According to 2 Corinthians 3:18, The Word of God acts like a mirror, revealing our spirit man the same way a mirror reveals our natural man. “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” In other words, as we continue to look into, meditate, and feed upon the Word, we will begin to see ourselves as God sees us. His definition of us is that we were made in His image and likeness with dominion over the earth. God’s definition of us is really the only definition that will endure forever because it’s true!
The transforming power of the Word of God is supernatural – it is Spirit to spirit. The Word says you have dominion in the earth! Jesus gave you power over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19)! Who you were, or what you did in the past has no bearing on who you are now! You are a Blood washed, Blood bought child of the living God! That is the image of dominion, and that image is the Image of God in you!
