“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8
There is nothing natural about the nature of Christianity. Christianity was conceived supernaturally; it has been maintained through the centuries supernaturally and will culminate supernaturally. Beginning with the virgin birth, the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, His ascension, and finally, the empowerment of the Church with the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, all of it was accomplished supernaturally. When we were given the Holy Spirit we were empowered with gifts of the Spirit, supernatural demonstrations of His power which bear witness of Him to a lost world. Through the power and processes of the Holy Spirit we are equipped, empowered, and sealed by God, who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think.
This is Christianity the way the Bible presents it in the Book of Acts, the Letters to the Churches, and on through the Book of Revelation. When the Bible talks about being transformed by the renewing of our minds, this is what we are to renew our minds to… The POWER OF GOD! There’s no reason for any born-again believer to stay the same week after week with no real power! Jesus said, “You shall receive power after the Holy Spirit is come upon you…!”
